Photo Size support
A question, an unexpected result or something that could be clearer? Use the form below to contact Photo Size support.
Use the form below for help with resizing, file limits or saving a copy. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, the dimensions and file-size limit you entered, and what happened.
Avoid sending private photographs or documents. If an example is needed, use a non-sensitive image. We will never ask for your Apple Account password.
Make a photo fit
Choose Photo or Open File, then select Dimensions, File size or Both. Enter your own requirements, adjust the framing and tap Create copy. Check the measured pixels and file size before saving.
Which save option should I use?
Save to Files keeps the exact verified file for an upload. Save to Photos adds a new copy to your library. Your selected original is never replaced. Photos and receiving apps may provide a transformed version later.
Why can’t my image fit the limit?
Some combinations of dimensions, format and file-size limit cannot be met. Increase the limit, change the dimensions or explicitly allow lower JPEG quality. In File size mode, the app can reduce dimensions when needed. Both mode keeps your chosen fixed dimensions.
What do KB and MB mean?
Pixels describe the width and height of the image. KB and MB describe the space the file takes up. 1 KB means 1,000 bytes; 1 MB means 1,000,000 bytes. Your file-size target is a maximum, so the finished copy can be smaller.
When do the colour controls appear?
Colour controls appear when the preview contains padding or visible transparent areas. Padding colour fills the space around the image. Transparent areas controls the fill behind transparent pixels. These fills affect the saved copy.
PNG can keep transparency; its checkerboard is only a preview. JPEG cannot keep transparency and uses a solid fill.
Which images are supported?
Still JPEG, PNG and HEIC or HEIF images are supported. Live Photos use the still image. Animation, PDFs and RAW development are not supported. If a cloud image cannot be opened, download it in Files or Photos and select it again.
Photos permission was denied
Files and sharing remain available. To allow saving a new Photos copy, change Photo Size’s Photos permission in the iPhone Settings app.
Why can the copy look different?
Copies use 8-bit sRGB colour and standard dynamic range for upload compatibility. HDR and wide-gamut images can look different. JPEG compression can reduce fine detail. Compare the copy before saving and choose a larger file limit if needed.
Is the app free?
Yes. Photo Size has no paid features, account, advertisements or watermark. Image processing happens on your iPhone.
