Include your app version, Mac model and macOS version, what you tried, and what happened. For RAW issues, the camera model and exact error message help. Review diagnostics before sending; do not send passwords or your entire photo library.

Get your star ratings into Lightroom Classic

Ratings-only plug-in

  1. In SpeedCull’s Sync tab, choose Lightroom Classic and the plug-in route.
  2. Follow the installation and one-time handoff-folder instructions. Choose the same shared folder in both apps if asked.
  3. Prepare the ratings handoff in SpeedCull, then open the SpeedCull plug-in from Lightroom Classic’s File → Plug-in Extras menu.
  4. Select the intended photographs or folder in Lightroom and review the matched images and proposed rating changes before applying them.

You do not need to sync XMP first. This route transfers stars without reading all XMP metadata back into Lightroom. It is an explicit handoff, not automatic background sync.

Manual XMP route

  1. Choose the XMP route in SpeedCull and review the summary before writing sidecars.
  2. For photographs already imported into Lightroom Classic, select the relevant images in the Library module.
  3. Choose Metadata → Read Metadata from Files and confirm only after checking that you want the file metadata read into the catalogue.

Important: Lightroom’s command reads more than stars. It can replace catalogue metadata or adjustments with file values. Back up the catalogue and resolve competing edits first. The ratings-only plug-in is the more targeted route when you only want stars.

Other photo apps

Use XMP if the receiving app supports sidecar ratings and follow its metadata-refresh instructions. Pick and reject flag behaviour differs between apps; do not assume every flag will transfer.

Availability

SpeedCull for Mac is preparing for TestFlight and the Mac App Store. There is no public download or beta invitation link yet. Lightroom Classic is a separate Adobe product and is not included with SpeedCull.
